When Nokia started teasing that something was coming on Monday by drawing our attention to Monday's date in front of a picture of the Hawaiian Islands, well it certainly looked like an announcement about a mapping application was coming. But as one of our loyal readers pointed out, the area code for Hawaii is 808. Hmm. Then, when Nokia teased Monday's date in front of an album cover from a group called the 808 band, well you don't have to drop a piano on our head for us to get the message: on Monday Nokia will announce a U.S. variant of the Nokia 808 PureView smartphone. Originally, the Finnish based manufacturer said that because of the lack of support for Symbian Belle, the device would not be launched in the States. Another clue released by Nokia is Monday's date teased in front of a music-related device called the Roland T-808. Convinced now?
Will Nokia make any changes to the device for the U.S. market? That remains to be seen. But it looks like the code is broken and now it is just a matter of waiting for Monday. Who's excited?
