Sometimes companies can be their own worst enemy and, in this case, it seems Google has outed Android 4.1 Jelly Bean before its I/O event next week. We already had an inkling that Google would designate the 4.1 scheme to its next android update, and this all but settles it. According to the Google Play listing for the Galaxy Nexus, the device will soon be “the first phone with Android 4.1 Jelly Bean.” Folks in the U.S. can check it out for themselves right now, where there’s also a picture of the device along with a new glassy Google Search bar. The evidence for Jelly Bean is there and is as plain as day. Now all we need now is for Google to announce the updated OS at next week’s event.
Update: The checkout page no longer mentions Android 4.1 Jelly Bean. Sorry Google, but the Internet already knows your big secret.
